Barbecued Pork Chops
Barbecued Pork Chops
2 tablespoons oil
6 loin pork chops, trimmed of excess fat
1 medium onion, chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 can (6 ounces) no-salt-added tomato paste
1/2 cup cider vinegar
1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons firmly packed brown sugar
1/4 cup water
3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1 teaspoon chili powder
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon salt
1. Heat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Heat oil in large skillet over medium high heat. Saute pork chops until lightly browned. Remove chops from skillet. Place in 11x7 inch baking dish in single layer. Set aside.
3. Add onion and garlic to skillet. Cook over medium heat until soft. Stir in remaining ingredients. Simmer 5 minutes.
4. Pour sauce over chops. Turn to coat. Cover. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 to 60 minutes or until chops are tender.
